| Examination Text | The Examination of Isabella Stokes taken upon oath this 22nd Day of August in the year of our Lord 1767. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 26 years of age and upwards, that she never was married, that she was on the 13th Day of March last delivered at the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster of a Male bastard Child (since christened Thomas) yet living and is become chargeable to the Parish aforesaid, and that Daniel Keith a Labourer to Mr Stokes at Brompton did beget on her body the said Male bastard child, and that he the said Daniel Keith is the true and only father thereof and no man else.
