Examination TextSarah Simpson aged 29 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Clement Danes within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that she is the wife of George Simpson (gone from her a fortnight) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Clement Danes the 30th Day of July in the year 1764, that her said husband was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Charles Batchelor a Shaggreen Case Maker in Dukes Court in Drury Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all the said term as her husband hath informed her which expired about eight years ago, that her husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since to this Examinant's knowledge, that she hath three children by her said husband to wit George aged three years and upwards, James aged 15 months and Sarah aged one month all now with this Examinant. Taken in the workhouse the 13th Day of February 1771.
