Examination TextElizabeth Hill aged 36 years lodging at Wineships [sic] in Vine Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of John Hill (gone abroad) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields the 10th day of August in the year 1760, that her said husband never was bound an apprentice, that her said husband was a yearly hired servant to Mr Oakley a Victualler in Harts Horn Lane (now Northumberland Street) in the Parish aforesaid for the space of five years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds 10 shillings diet and lodging, that while he was servant to the said Mr Oakley he was single and unmarried, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after he quitted the said Mr Oakley's service, that she hath three children by her said husband to wit John aged nine years and upwards, James aged seven years and upwards, and Sarah aged four years and upwards all now with this Examinant. Sworn the second Day of October 1770 before Peter Planck.
