Examination TextJames Burt aged 32 years lodging at Mr Wells's in Banbury Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Smith a Peruke Maker in that part of Bear Street which is in the Parish aforesaid and there served his said Master all the said term, which expired in the year 1760, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Martha at the Parish Church of St Clement Danes the 24th Day of May in the year 1763 by whom he hath four children to wit Elizabeth aged eight years and upwards, Ann aged six years and upwards, Martha aged four years and upwards and Sarah aged four months all now with this Examinant. Sworn the fifth day of September 1772 before Thomas Kynaston.
