Examination TextThe Examination of Lucy Grove widow at Beaconsfield in the County of Bucks taken upon oath this 19th August 1772. This Examinant on her oath saith that Ann Hambley aged 11 years and upwards, John Hambley aged eight years and upwards, George Hambley aged four years and upwards, and Joseph Hambley three years and upwards passed from the Parish of Beaconsfield aforesaid to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields are the true and lawful issue of George Hambley by Ann his wife (who are both deceased), that the said George Hambley senior lived in and rented an house known by the sign of the Hole in the Wall in Panton Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of several years at the yearly rent of 20 pounds and upwards besides taxes, and that he the said George Hambley senior died in the occupation of the said house in Panton Street about three years ago, all which she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes to be true, she this Examinant being sister to the said George Hambley's wife.
