Examination TextMichael Sheen aged about 20 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, passed as a vagrant from the Parish of St Michael in the city of Coventry, upon his oath saith that he hath been informed and verily believes that he was born in a house known by the sign of the Black Horse near Charing Cross in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father used to sell buckles &c. at the Mews Gate, that he this Examinant cannot tell anything concerning the place of the settlement of his Father. Taken in the workhouse the third Day of February 1772.
