Examination TextThe Examination of Richard Chandler in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. John Southwark in the County of Surry taken this [blank] Day of [blank] 1773. This Examinant on his oath saith that he is 53 years of age, that he lived in and rented an house in Langley Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of four years at the yearly rent of 16 pounds besides taxes, that he quitted the said house about eight years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he was married to his present wife Sarah at the Parish Church of Thatcham and in the County of Berks. about 20 years ago by whom he hath one child to wit Sarah aged about 14 years now with this Examinant, which said Sarah never was married bound an apprentice [nor] was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together. Sworn the day and year above written before [blank].
