Examination TextThe Examination of Ann Gage in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster taken this 26th Day of September in the year 1777. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 27 years of age, that before her intermarriage (being single and unmarried her maiden name being Ann Brown) she was on the ninth day of February in the year 1774 delivered at the house of Mr Dean a Peruke maker on Saffron Hill in the liberty of Saffron Hill Hatton Gardens and Ely in the Parish of St Andrew Holborn in the County of Middlesex of a female bastard child (since christened Susannah) yet living and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields. Sworn the 26th Day of September 1777 before J. Hale, Thomas Bullard.
