Examination TextMatthew Capfinger aged about 43 years Lodging [at] Mr. Swindall's at Hyde Park Corner, Saith he was married to Jane his Wife at the Feet about 18 years ago, That he never was bound an appren., Was a Yearly hired Servant (before marriage) to her Grace the Dutches of Somerset at Northumberland House about two years as a Postillion, had £5 p. ann. Wages & six shillings p. Week Board Wages, Saith the Dutches's Coach & Horses always stood in the Green Mews and that he always lay there, Saith he was hired at Northumberland House but was discharged at Sion House at Brentford immediately after he came there from Windsor where he had been about two or three days, Saith he married while he lived there, Saith [?] kept house in Bear Street in the Parish of St. [Anne's] about half a year paid £6 p. ann. Rent but no parish Taxes, never kept house Rented £10 p. ann. or paid any parochial Taxes since hath no children living.
