Examination TextRichard Williams, Lodging at the Horse & Groom Hedge Lane Saith he is a Widower, That he was married to Mary his first wife decd. at Chinsbury near Edgar [sic] by whom he hath four children living viz: Richard aged 34 or 35 years a Labourer married Mary aged about [?] years a Servant to Mr. Jackson the corner of James St. in the Haymarket Sarah aged about 28 years a Servt. to one at Hillington & Elizabeth aged about 27 years now at home with him sick, Saith his said Daughter Elizabeth never was bound an appren., That she has ben a Servant at severall places in this and in the parish of St. Paul Covent Garden & St. Margaret Westmint. but can't directly say how long she lived in any one of those, Saith his said Daughter Elizabeth was born in Kingsbury near Edgar [sic], That he kept house in Hampstead severall years, paid £13 or £14 p. ann. & all parochial Taxes, left the same about seven or eight years ago and since Rented [five] stables with rooms over them where he lay over against the Horse & Groom in Hedge Lane, 3 years, paid £26 p. ann. Rent but no Parish Taxes.
