Examination TextSusannah Stone aged 24 years lodging at Mr Lloyd's in New Bedford Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of William Stone (who was impressed into his Majesty's Sea service about two months ago) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid the 30th Day of April in the year 1770, that her said husband is a Cooper by trade and lived in and rented an house in Vine Street in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years and an half at the yearly rent of 20 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same last October, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that she hath one child by her said husband to wit William aged five years and upwards now with this Examinant. Sworn the eighth day of February 1777 and before John Hale.
