Examination TextThe Examination of Ann Davenstreet singlewoman taken on Oath this 4th Day of ffebry in the year of our Lord 1733 Who on her Oath saith she is about Twenty 22 years of Age And that she was on Wednesday the Ninth Day of this Instant January delivered of a Male Bastard Child in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields which is become chargeable to the same parish And that one James Brian now or lately a Chamberlain at the Angel Inn behind Saint Clements had sometime on or about the second Day of April last past the Carnal Knowledge of her Body on a Bed in a Room Number Twenty Two even with the Gallery Two paid of Stairs in the Angel Inn aforesaid where she was a Servant at that Time and several Times afterwards elsewhere in the said House And she also on her Oath further saith that he the said James Brian did beget on her Body the said Male Bastard Child and that he the said James Brian is the true and only ffather thereof and no Man else Sworn the Day and year above written Cha Greenwood Fra: Brown The mark of Ann Davenstreet
