Examination Text | Mary Crank in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Luke in the County of Middlesex taken upon oath this 13th Day of August 1772. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 40 years of age and upwards, that she is the wife William Crank (who is gone from her refuses to provide for her) to whom she was married at the Fleet the 30th Day of December which is in the year 1750, that her said husband is a Painter by trade and lived in and rented a house in Meeting House Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of four years and upwards at the yearly rent of 12 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same at Michaelmas 1768, that her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the day and year above written before Charles Marsh. |
