Examination TextCatherine Pratt aged 58 years lodging at one Mr Letts, a Joyner in White Hart Yard in the Parish of St. Mary le Strand where she hath lodged three months saith that she is the widow of John Pratt (who died 25 years ago) to whom she was married at Lambs Chapell 43 years since, by whom she hath two children left to wit Matthew above 40 years old, a Silver Smith and served his time at one Mr Liger in Southampton Street or Maiden Lane in the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden, and Stephen aged three years [sic] who served an apprenticeship of seven years with one Mr Davis at Kingston upon Thames in the County of Surry, that her said husband was by trade a Woollen Draper and after his death she this Examinant lived in and rented an house in Exchange Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of eight years or thereabouts and paid 18 pounds yearly rent for the same, that she quitted that house seven or eight years ago and never took any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant nor been married since.
