Examination TextJohn Garrett of the Parish of St Anne within the liberty of Westminster, Shoemaker, maketh oath and saith that John Dufort was bound apprentice to him by indenture for seven years in Bear Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, a lodging house where Mr Vere now lives, and where he served him three years, and then run away from him and enlisted himself for a soldier which is about 22 years ago, since which he never kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant, that he lodged in the house with this Examinant all the said three years and was not turned over to any person. Sworn the 27th Day of January 1741 before me James Fraser.
