Examination TextMary Gray alias Wright in the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she her name is Wright and about 17 years age, never was married bound apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a year together a yearly hired servant in any place, that she was born on the left hand side of Plough Court (going down) in Grays Inn Lane, and that her father Laverick Wright who was a Shoemaker by trade kept house there but of what rent or how long above a year cannot say, that she was a yearly hired servant to one Mrs Blanche a Staymaker in Earls Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid at 40 shillings per ann. wherein she continued half a year then went away, her Master [sic] finding fault, her mother made the agreement and received her wages, stayed away near two months then her mother agreed for one shilling per week, continued then about three months and came thence about one year ago.
