Examination TextMargaret Read aged about 55 years removed from the Parish of St. John the Evangelist in Westminster and now in the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she was married to her late husband John Read (who died about 11 years ago) at the ffleet upwards of 15 years since, that he was bound an apprentice by the officers of this Parish to one John Crofts a Peruke Maker who lived in Charles Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and served there all his time which expired about [blank] years ago since which he never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant, nor she this Examinant since his death, hath no children living by him, and that she hath not intermarried with any other Person since her said husband's death.
