Examination TextMary Holt aged 33 years removed from St Andrews Holborn above the Bars in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith she was married to her late husband James Holt (who died about nine years ago) at the Hand and Pen in the Fleet about 16 years ago, that he was born in Ireland and followed the trade of a Foilmonger [sic], but weather he served any apprenticeship to that or any other business don't know, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a year together a yearly hired servant in any place as this Examinant knows or ever heard, and that she this Examinant having no child or children was a yearly hired servant to Mr Cope who kept the Bear Tavern in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields one year and four months at the yearly wages of 7 pounds diet washing and lodging, quitted the same about five years ago since which she never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant a year together in any place, and that she hath not intermarried with any person since her said husband's death.
