Examination TextJohn Elliot aged 44 years lodging at one Mr Freeman's in Mercer Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields saith that he is a Plaisterer by trade and was bound apprentice by indenture for seven years to his Father Charles Elliot who lived in Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where he served all his said apprenticeship which expired about 19 years ago, that he has one child by Isabella his late wife now living (to wit) Eleanor aged 20 years, who now is a servant with one Mr Howlett, Fruiterer in Covent Garden Markett, that he was married to Elizabeth is now wife at the Hand and Pen in the Fleet about six years ago by whom he has no child, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant. Sworn the 28th day of July 1744 before James Fraser.
