Examination TextAnn Stevens aged 29 years lodging at one Mr Lees in Langley Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields saith she is the widow of John Stevens (who died on the sixth day of last [sic]), that he was a Brasier by trade and served his time with one Mr Lawrence, a Brazier in Mercers Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields which expired about 13 years ago, that since his time expired he lived in and rented an house of 12 pounds per ann. in Mercer Street aforesaid for the space of one year, quitted the same about six years and never kept house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant since her said husband's death, that she has two children by him now living to wit David aged 10 years and Hannah aged two years now with her this Examinant. Sworn this 27th Day of July 1744 before James Fraser.
