This Indenture Witnesseth That John Smith< no role > & William Davis< no role > Churchwardens
Thomas Cullen< no role > James Shotford< no role > John Barker< no role > & Richd. Smith< no role > Overseers of the poore
of the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx with the assent of Hugh
Chamberlen & Leonard Hancock< no role > Esqrs : Justices of the peace for the County of Middx
and Citty & liberty of Westmr: according to the Statute in that case made & provided Have
putt Margarett Burnham apprentice to John Shosee Buttonmaker & with him after
the manner of an Apprentice to owell & serve from the day of the date to hereof unto
the full end & terme of Seaven yeares from thence next ensueing & fully to be compleated
& ended dureing all which said terme wee the Church wardens & Overseers of the poore with
the assent aforesaid doe order & appointe the said Margt. Burnham well & faithfully
her said Mar: shall serve his secretts keepe his Comandmts. lawfull & henest every
where shall gladly doe hurt to her Said Mar: shee shall not doe nor consent to be done
of others but that shoe to her power shall prvent the same or else from time to
time admonish him thereof the goods of her said Mar shee shall not wast nor
them to anybody tend without his Consent neither from his service by day or night
shall not absent her self Taverns or Ale houses shee shall not frequent at Cards Dire
or any other unlawfull game shee shall not play whereby her Mar: may receive any
prsudue Formiacen shee shall not comitt Matrimony dureing the said terme
shee shall not contract but in all things as a good & faithfull servt. ought to doe
shall behave her self towards her said Mar: ans all his dureing the said terme
And the said John Shosee shall wach & instruct or cause to be taught & instructed
his said apprentice in the Art Mistery or Trade of a Button maker which he now
useth according to his best skill & knowledge And Shall give to & provide for his
Said apprentice Sufficient Meale Drink Washing lodging apparrell Linnen
and all other necessaryes meete and Convenient for such an Apprentice
dureing the said terme And for the true performance of all the Articles
in forme aforesaid to be kept the said parties to these prsent Indentures bind
themselves each to other by these prsents In witnesse whereof the parties to
these Prsent Indentures Interchangeably have sett their hands & seales the
Twenty ninth day of December in the third yeare of the reigne of King
William & Queene Mary over England & Annoq Dui 1691
