Informations of Witness taken this
18th, day of August 1773 , at the Parish of
St, Anne in the Liberty of Westminster , at the
Dwelling House of Mr, Hewson the Sign of
the Crown in Newport Court in the said Parish
Before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman His
Majesty's Coroner for the said City and Liberty
touching the Death of Joseph Smart< no role > then and
there lying Dead as fellon

Sarah Smart< no role > wife of David Smart< no role > of Newport Court St. Ann's Chandler
on her Oath says that yesterday Morning about 8 o'Clock she was [..]
her Shop and heard the Report of a Pistol, and immediately wont up
into the one pair of Stairs back Room, the Door was not fastoned &
then saw the Deced lying on the Floor with his Cloths on, the Dept [..]
said My god what have you been a doing of, the Deced replied Sister
I have done it, the Deced was holding his hand on his side, the [..]
held his hand out to the Deponent & she thon saw Blood on his Short
she laid hold of his hand in order to lift him up but he fell down
again, Deponent then wont down Stains to cell some Nighbours,
they came, and Mr, Geory a Surgeon was sent for who Extracted the
