Informations of Witnesses taken this 31st,
day of July 1773 , at the Parish of St. Margaret
Westminster , at the Dwelling House of Mr. John
Smith
< no role > the Sign of the Kings head in James
Street in the said Parish and Liberty. Before
Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman His Majesty's
Coroner for the said City and Liberty of Westmr.
touching Death of James Porter< no role > then and
there lying Dead, as follow

Samuel Green< no role > Servant to Mr. Hoare of Milbank St. John the Evangelist Westmr. Coal
Merchant on his Oath says that last Tuesday was 3 Weeks
the Deced with the Deponent & another fellow Servant was lodging
a Coal Cart at the sd. Mr. Hoare's Dock at Milbank and the Deced was coming along the Shore Plank
with a Lack of Coals on his Back, he missed his Step and fell
down into the Water with the Lack of Coals and the Lack of Coals fall on his Leg and he was taken
up directly and found his right Leg was Broke, the Bone coming
through by Stocking, the Deced was immediately taken to Westmr.
Hospital, and Died there the 31st, day of July 1773, Deponent say
there
