Informations taken this 25th March 1762
on an Inquisition touching the Death of Sarah< no role > the
Wife of Mathew Mason< no role > lying dead at the Parish
of Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster
taken before Thomas Prickard< no role > his Majesty's Coroner
for the Liberty of Westminster .

Susannah< no role > the Wife of Haddon Hodgkison< no role > of
Berwick Street Silk Dyer on her Oath Saith that
between Six and Seven onMonday TuesdayMonday Monday Evening last Mr
Mason called Dept. over to his House to observe what
thethe deced had taken says She went accordingly, and Mr.
Mason fetched a Vial down, and there being nothing in
the Vial, be went up and brought down a Quart pot
with water in it which Dept. tasted and found there was
Vihiol in it,atwhich Mr. Mason throwed away. says
that Mr. Mason being obliged to go out sent his Wife
to Dept. House on Tuesday evening where she drank Tea, and staid till
between eight and nine; that the next Morning
Dept. Standing at the Door. Mr. Mason came over to
her desired her to come over to his House, that Dept
went accordingly, and knowing the deced to be
disordered, she ran up directly to deceds Apartment
and discovered the deced lying on the Bed with one Stoot
one Chair and a Garter round her Neck which Dept. slackened says she took the deced by the Shoulders
and shook her and finding her not move, she laid hold
of her hands & Arms and found them cold; and believing her
to be then dead ran down Stairs. and called Mr. Clark
the next door neighbour, says they both went up
again and found her in the same posture & dead. says she
has known the deced abt. ten Months, and verily believes
the deced at Intervals was disordered in her mind. says
that the general Character of Mr. Mason the deced's
Husband, was that of a good sober & honest Man and
that he lived is good harmony with the deced
