Mathew Mason< no role > of Berwick Street Cordwainer on
his Oath Saith that has been married to deced about
eleven Months., that about three or four Monthsor twoafter his
Marriage, the decedapappeared to be disordered in her
Maid, and Dept. was informed that his Wife had been
confined on Account of her Madness. Says that Yesterday
Morning about Seven o'Clock Dept. got up to his Work
leaving the deced abed, and not finding the deced come
down Stairshe went uaccording to her usual time he
went up to his Bed chamber, and did not see her in
Bed but on looking about he discovered the deced
hanging by a Garter fastened to a Gimblet in the
Wainscot in a Corner of the Room near the Foot of
the Bed; that he immediately took her down and laid
her upon the Bed, and went to Mrs. Hodgkison a
neighbour and asked her to come to his House, that he
went up Stairs with her, says Mrs. Hodgkison went to an
other Neighbour Mrs. Clark who came directly, Dept.
continuing in the Room, says Mrs. Clark examined the
deced and said she was dead. says when he took his wife
down he could not tell who the she was dead; nor did not
attempt to take the Garter from her neck being greatly
frightened.

Deponent further Saith that a Month ago this Day the
deced went from Dept. and as her sister informed to Dept.
to Bethnal Green Mad house , that Dept. went the Sunday
following to that place and then found his Wife, and she
came House that Evening with deced Deponent seemingly
very Well says she had been confined there before as
appeared to Dept. by the People of the Mad house knowing
her well.
