At the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace of
our Lord the King held for the Liberty of the Dean
& Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter [..]
Westmr. of the County of Middx & St. Martins Le
Grand London on Thursday to witt the
Eighth Day of January in the Seventh
Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role >
George the Third now King of Great Britain
France & Ireland Defender of the Faith before
Sir John Fielding< no role > Knight Sir Henry
Cheere Sir Joseph Ayloff< no role > Houlding Barts< no role > .
Thomas Kynaston< no role > Roger Jackson< no role > Esqrs
and other their Fellows Justices of our said Lord
the King Assigned to keep the Peace within
the said Liberty And also to hear & Determine
divers Felonies Trespasses & other Misdeeds
done & Comitted within the said Liberty

Whereas by the Statute of the twelfth Year of the Reign of
HispresentMajesty King George the Second Intituled an act
the more easy AssessingandCollecting and levying of County Rates
It is enacted that the Justices of the Peace for the City and Liberty of
Westmr. shall have full power and authority to appoint the
Governor of the House of Correction within the said City & Libty who
shall have such sum of Money Yearly as had been accustom'd
for & towards the support and maintenance of the Prisoners in
his custody as shall be Sick & unable to work not exceeding £50
by the Year and to direct the Treasurer or Treasures of the
County of Middx to obey all orders which shall be made
by the Justices of the Peace of the said City & Libty or the greater
Part of them assembled in their General Quarter Sessions for the
Payment of any Sum of Sums of Money for the Allowance alloted
to such Governor a Master of the said House of Correction And
Whereas at the General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for
the said City & Libty on the 25th. Day of June last John Stephens< no role >
then Governor [..] or Master of the said House of Correction
exhibited his petition in the usual manner & form for the
Sum of Twenty five pounds for half a Year's support and
Maintenance of the said Prisoners due at Midsumer last Whereupon
it was Ordered by the Court there that the said John Stephens< no role > should
give
