Read the Words following Vizt.

To the Rt: Woppll. The Generall Court of the Governrs. of St: Thomas's
Hospll .

The Report from the Grand Comittee for Managing
the Affaires of this Hospll. Of their Proceedings since the
Three & Twentieth of November 1705 being the last
Genll: Court (Vizt.)

Wm. Abbott< no role > 's
Grant.


Wee have Agreed with Willm Abbott< no role > Joyner to Grant him a
Lease Of a small peice of Ground lyeing in the parish of St. Thomas
in Southwarke some time designed for a Burying Ground (Except such
part thereof as is in the Possion of Majr : Edward Lane< no role > ) And also
of a small Old Tenement in the same parish adjoyning to the sd.
peice of Ground, called the Old Bird in Hand; The Ground to be
Demised for Fifty Four Yeares From Xtmas last and the House for Fifty
One Yeares from Xtmas 1708. at which time the Old Lease thereof
Expires. At a Pepper Corne for the Ground for the First three yeares
and at Eight pounds Sixteen Shillings P Ann for the Ground & House
for the remaining One & Fifty yeares. He is to pay downe Twenty
Guineys as a Fine and to lay out Four Hundred pounds in new Building
[..] of good & substantiall Brick Messuages or Tenant
upon the said Ground and the Toft or Soyle of the sd. House the Buildings
upon the Ground to be Finished & perfected in two Yeares, and upon the
Toft or Soyle of the sd. House within Five yeares from this time. He is
to have all the old Materialls for his own Use, And tis agreed that
such part of the Celler now Used with the said Bird in hand as lyes under
any of the adjoyneing Houses shall be demised to the sd. Abbott for such
Terme or Termes only as is or are now to come in the Leases of these Houses
to the intent that the same may then be lett with the Houses under which
the same lyes.

And Wee have Agreed with Thomas Sawtell< no role > our Tennant of
Three small Old Tenements in St. Thomas's Church Yard to Grant him
a Lease of the said Tenements For One & Twenty yeares from Michas
1707. at which time the Old Lease Expires, At the Old yearely Rent [..]
of Three pounds Ten shillings. In Consn: of a Fine of Twenty
pounds to be pain in hand, and the Charge he is to be at in
Repaires.
