The Treasurer laid before the Committee a Bill of Mr.
Dughby the Surveyor for Surveying and making a Plan of St.
Thomas's Parish and for valuing Timber upon the Hospital Estate
at Orpington amounting to £54.10

Mr. Whitfields
Petition for an
Assistant


The Treasurer land before the Committee a Petition of Mr.
Whitfield the Apothecary of this Hospital Stating that he has
been upwards of 40 years Apothecary of this Hospital And that
by reason of his advancing Age and consequent Infirmities he
finds himself unable without some assistance to support the
fatigue of his employ And that his Son Richard Whitfield< no role > had
served a regular Apprenticeship of 7 years to him in the Hospital
during which time and since the expiration of such Apprenticeship
he has assisted him in attending the Patients and in the
discharge of other the duties of his Office which he has done to
Mr. Whitfield his father's satisfaction and therefore praying
that the Committee would be pleased to appoint the said Mr.
Richard Whitfield< no role > to be his Assistant

The Treasurer also laid before the Committee a testimon [..]
of the Physicians and Surgeons of the Hospital in favor of
the Abilities and Qualification of Mr. Richard Whitfield< no role >
for the employ
