As we are about to take the Opinion of Councel
relating to the Land tax charg'd on Your Farm I wod: have you
Represent it to the Collectors when they apply for the next half
Year & recommend it to them to defer any further Proceedings
till you hear from Me But if they are obstinate & insist on
Your Payments Let 'em Distrein and be sure you take witness
of what they do (as you can be no Witness Yourself) and let such
Witness or Witnesses put down in writing the names of the Persons
who make the Distress, the day, the thing distreind, and for how
much money and any other Circumstances that may be material
in order to maintain an Action

I observe by your Letter to Mr. Leeson of
the 24 Instant that they have distrein'd for the last half
Years Land tax and since they have been so much in a
hurry. It must remain as it us - The Case now lies before
Councel and as soon as I have the Opinion You shall hear
from me You have done right in taking Witnesses as I
desired you Let them make a memorandum in writing of
what Pass'd at the Seizure & sign their names to it in order
to help their memory in case of a Tryal

Wrote to the Revd. Mr. Collyer that the Grand commee had
been pleased to take the Petition of Mr. Hanerck & his Sister
Batryt into Consideration & had Orderd that £50 should
be allowed them towards Building a Brick Stable & repairing
the Taron in a Subitantial Mannerat the Same time during
that some further part of the Fine right be paid and Mr Morse
Fees for the Expressing of the Lease might be remitted Etc
