Mr. Pigram
On Wednesday the 20th inst. was the publick Audit of the
Accounts of this Hospital, when not only the State of your Debt,
but that of every other Tenant, was particularly examin'd &
inquired into. The Gentn. concern'd herein was greatly
as to [..] at the largeness of your Arrear of Rent. They
were not only highly displeased with You but me also in suffering
you to go on in this manner. They are absolutely determin'd
to put a Stop to such proceedure. They cant consistent with
the Trust [..] and Confidence placed in them do
otherwise. Yet at the same time that they pay this
regard to the Trust reposed in them they are not neg-
[..] lectful of the benefit of their Tenants & should be
truly concerned if through any necessary expidient made
use of for the Interest of this Hospital they should [..]
unavoidably prejudice that of any of their Tenants. It
is in obedience to their Order that I trouble You with this
to press you to the payment of a considerable part of the
Arrears of Rent which amounted at Michs last to £216.5
a most [..] Sum indeed too much for any one Tenant
to be in arrear of Rent. Mr. Treasurer who interests himself
in your Favour thinks you can't well sent Less than £100.
I beg you will seriously think about it, which if you do
you cannot but confess it to be a most reasonable request, a
will, in consequence thereof immediatley send the money,
or appoint some time within a Month when it may be
depended on to receive it.
