Mr. Goldsmith
Yours of 20th. inst. relating to a new Pound for the Manner of
Crofton has been laid before Mr. Treasr. And You are desired to take the
Dimensions of the present Pound in order to give Yr. Opinion of the Expence
& like in enquire of Mr. Staples or some other Carpenter what they will do it
for and find Timber

Mr. Treasurer recd. Yrs. of 30th. March all. acquainting him that
Mr. Joseph Allwood< no role > 's Proposal is to be at Liberty to make Tryal for Coal in
any Part of the Lords belonging to this Hospl. & to work at two Shafts for wth.
Ten hope to bring him to pay £40 yearly Rent And that you will take care
to procure the Tents. proper Satisfaction for any Damage they may sustain
I have Mr. Treasurer's Commands to write for Answer that it will not be
convenient to call the Gd. Commee together for some time, but thinks you
may make such an Agreemt. with Mr. Allwood as you apprehend will be
most conducive to the Jur. of the Hospls. and reced not doubt of its meeting
with the Approbation of the ComeeMr. Treasurer is gone to the
Oath for a few weeks if Mr. Allwood comes to Terms and Yo. approve of
sending the Draft of the intended Lease to me will take care to put
it into the hands of Mr. Morse our Clarke for his perusal

By Mr. Treasurer's Orders you are to make a new
Pound for the Manner of Crofton in the place where the old Pound
now stands & of the same Dimensions of Good Square Oak
Timber of such Scantlings & in the same Manner as the Old one
