Mr: Flower
It is more than two Months since you made yor: last
Paymt: when Mr: Treasurer told you that he expected you should
pay such another Sum in a fortnits time, but, on failure thereof,
that He should be obliged to make use of such Means as were
in his Power for Securing the large Arrear of Rent due to the
Hosptl:I can at present inform you, as a Friend, that if you do
not pay in £100..- in a week or ten days at furthest (about which time)
I expect the Commee will [..] meet) you will soon feel the
the weight of the Gentlemen's Resentment for their long despised
Indulgence.

Your Letter with the inclosed one from the Tenants came
to hand, & I laid them before the Gentlemen concerned in the Estate,
whose Orders are that a year's Rent must be paid forthwith, before
they will come to any Agreement for the Remainder. They expect
year speedy Answer, & I am Sr:

Mr: Surridge
Mr. Treasurer has order'd me to acquaint you that He
would have been in Town had He known of yor: comming last Thursday, &
His Direction is that you should look after the Hospital Affairs at
Parndon as Mr: Collin did, for which He will either pay you by the year, or
so much a time as Mr: Collin was. You are desired to mark out what Timber
you think is necessary for Mr. Smith's present Occasions, but as to the Timber
which Mrs. Surret requires for a Granary Mr. Treasurer's Answer is that He
will not encouraged Farmers to heard their Corn, being satisfied that it is
more for their Interest to sell it as soon as thresh'd than to keep it by 'em.
