Saint James Westminster
£678..12s..10d. 20th. May
Saint Paul Covent Garden
£105..17s..6d. 1st. July
Quota. £.2861..14s..3d.
That on the 5th.. day of September the said High
Constable
did pay to the Treasurer the sum of
£839..3s..6d. being the balance of January Rate
and that on the 6th.. day of September the Treasurer
sent him the Precept to collect the Quota of June Rate
That in February last an Order of Court was
made for his Attendance and payment of the Rate
made in July 1798. and that in such Division a
has been the Constant practice to delay the payment
of the County Rate to the Treasurer
for many Months
notwithstanding the Act directs that the same shall
be Collected and Paid within 30. Days.
That the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
has paid to the Treasurer the Quota of such Parish or
on the Rate made in June Session last and has
declared that it is the desire of such Parish to pay the
same in the first instance to the County Treasurer
rather than to the High Constable and Saint
James's Parish has made a similar Declaration
provided such mode be sanctioned by the Approbation
of the Magistrates
That as such Parishes have in general
Treasurer
's it would save the trouble if the Magistrates
should deem it expedient to Signify their Approbation
of such mode of payment
All which matters are humbly submitted to
the Consideration of the Court.
