The Consideration
thereof referred
to the Commee

Edwards Vagrant was sent to the said Goal from Shadwell by Peter Green< no role >
Esqr . one of His Majesty's Justices of the peace for this County in a very Weak
and dangerous State both in regard to himself and the Health of the Prisoners
in general. Resolved that the Consideration of the above Circumstances
be referred to the Committee appointed in October Session last to Consider
the allegations contained in a Petition delivered by Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. Contractor
for Conveying Vagrants in through and our of this County, and the Sir Sampson
Wright
< no role > Knight and John Barnfather< no role > Esqr . be added to the said Committee
Resolved that a Circular Letter be sent to His Majestys Justices of the peace
acting in and for this County recommending it to them to take care that the
Paupers are in a proper State to be removed before they sign any Pass Warrant
for that purpose.

Lord Mayor on
the Subject of
the Vagrants


Mr. Chairman Stated to the Court That the Committee appointed at
the last Session "to Consider the allegations contained in a Petition delivered
by Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. Contracter for Conveying Vagrants in through and out of
this County and all other Circumstances relative to the passing Vagrants as they
may think proper" had met in pursuance of the Order of referrence to them
made and that a Letter had been sent by the said Committee to the Lord Mayor
and Court of Aldermen requesting that a Conference might be had with them
respecting the present mode of conveying Vagrants from the City of London
thro' this County that such Conference with the City had not as yet been had
but that he had received a Letter from the Lord Mayor informing him that
he had communicated to the Court of Aldermen the Letter he had received from
the Committee and that the Court had desired the Lord Mayor to have an
Interview with him on the Subject but that the same had not yet taken place.

Mr Jennings Vestry Clerk of the Parish of St. Clement Danes having laid
before this Court for Payment a Bill for Passing of vagrant from the Parish of
Saint Clement Danes to the Contractor for conveying Vagrants in thro'and out of
this County Resolved That the same be disallowed by this Court and That Robert
Butler
< no role > Esqr. and William Kitchiner< no role > Esqr . Justices of Peace for this County be desired to represent
the Matter to the parish of St. Clement Danes and to recommend it to them to pay the same as
it would be highly detrimental to the County at large was the present practice of
Ordering Vagrants to be broke in upon.
