Resolved that is be recommended to his Majesty
Justices of the peace
acting in and for this Division that in future
they do commit such persons only as are guilty of small offences
to New Prison
and those for capital felonies to Newgate the
County Goal

The Keepers of the Justices Prisons having represented
to the Court that there is no place at present appropriated at the
New Session House in the Old Bailey
where prisoners in their Custody
carried there as Evidences for the Crown can be with Safety kep [..]
All they are called upon which is frequently many hours and [..]
times the whole day that hitherto the Keepers have been obliged
to attend with such prisoners at some publick House in the Neighbours
and the trials May sometimes come on in which they said Prisoners
may be concerned as Witnesses and the Keepers from their distance
from the Session House be not apprized fit and thus the benefit of the Widene [..]
the Crown
may in some Cases be Lost and Capital & notorcons offenders sometimes escape Justice and
all Events the Goaley [..] to the damages having their prisoners Exat
Resolved that the Chairman be desired to make
the Court at the Old Bailey
acquainted with these Circumstance
and beg that the Court there would make such provision as may
seem meet for remedying the inconvenience Complained of

the Committee appointed to carry into immediate and Effectual
Execution the Repair of New Prison
and Clerkenwell Bridewell
