holden for the same County at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the said
County by Adjournment On Thursday the second day of April instant Have
elected nominated and appointed the above bounden William Jones< no role > to be
Governor and Keeper of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell in the Said County
in the Room and Place of Henry Wallbank< no role > deceased late Governor and Keeper
of the Said House of Correction during the Pleasure of the Justices of the Peace
for the Said County in their General Quarter Sessions of the Peace assembled
or tobe Assembled or the major part of them only and no longer Now
the Condition of this Obligation is Such That if the Said Wm.
Jones do during the time he Shall continue Governor and Keeper of the sd.
House of Correction keep his constant Residence there and well demean
himself in the said Office or Employment and Execute the Same in his own
Person and not by Deputy And also if he his Executors or Administrators
do and Shall well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the Sheriff of the
said County for the time being or his Order for the Use of his now Majesty
King George the third his Heirs and Successors all Such Sum and Sums
and Sums of Money as have been or shall be imposed and set for any
Fine or Fines by any of the Justices of the Peace for the Said County
assembled at any of their General or General Quarter Sessions of the
Peace held within in the Said County On any Prisoner or Prisoners
comitted or tobe committed to the Custody of the Said Wm Jones< no role > as Keeper
or Governor of the Said House of Correction for any Offence or Offences by
then committed and which Shall or without his or their wilful Default
may at any time or times be received by him or his Servant or Servants
during Such time as the said Wm. Jones< no role > Shall continue Governor or
Keeper of the Said House of Correction And also if he the Said Wm. Jones< no role >
his Extors or Admtors do and Shall likewise well and truly Accompt
with and pay or Cause to be paid unto the Clerk of the Peace for the Said
County for the time being or his Deputy All Such Fees as the Said Wm Jones< no role >
or his respective Servant or Servants Shall or without his or their wilful
default may during the time he shall continue Governor or Keeper of the
Said House of Correction receive for the Use of Such Clerk of the Peace of
any Prisoner or Prisoners comitted or tobe committed to the said House
of Correction And also allow unto the Matron of the Said House of Correction
for the time being the Apartment therein formerly and now allowed to the
Matrens thereof And that in Case he the Said Wm Jones< no role > Shall be
displaced and discharged from the Said Office or Employment of Governor
or Keeper of the said House of Correction by Order of the Justices of the
Peace for the said County to be assembled in their General Quarter
