Order [..] appointing a
Comittee to take a contract
or contracts from an able
Workman or Workmen
for the effectual repaireing
of Brentford Bridge Etc}

Information being given unto this Court by James Clitherow< no role >
Esqrs . one of his Maties Justices of the peace for this County
residing in New Brentford Division in the Said County that
a publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge within the parish of
Hanwell in the Same County (which hath been heretofore
repaired & ought to be now repaired by the Inhabitants of
this County) is now in very great decay for want of repaire
insomuch that it is dangerous to his Maties Subjects to pass
over the Same, and that it is highly necessary that the Said
Bridge Should be forthwith repaired, Audit appearing that a
Rate was made by the Court of General Quarter Session of the
peace holden for this County in January last upon the
Several parishes & places in the Said County for raiseing the
Sum of two hundred pounds for the repaire of the Said Bridge
and that the Sum of Seventy pounds or thereabouts hath been
collected in part thereof upon the Said Rate & paid into the
hands of Mr. John Higgs< no role > the Treasurer of the Same, It is
thought fit and Ordered by this Court that it be And It is
hereby recommended & referred unto Sr. Henry Vincint< no role >
Bart . Sr . Francis Child< no role > Knt. James Clitherow< no role > Robert Moreton< no role >
Richard Bulstrode< no role > John Tarver< no role > & Charles Bere< no role > Esqrs . Seven
of his Maties Justices of the peace for this County residing
in or neare New Brentford Division aforesaid or any
three or more of them as a Committee to assemble & meet
together And to treat with Some able & experienced
Workman or Workmen for the effectual repaireing of
the Said Bridge for Such prices as the Said Committee
Shall think reasonable, And to take a contract or contracts
from Such workman or workmen for their well and
Sufficiently repairing the Said Bridge in a Substantial &
workman like manner and to find & provide timber, Stone
iron, gravel and other materials for that purpose at
Such prices as the Said Comittee Shall in their Judgment
think reasonable, And In regard it may be necessary
that Some money Should be advanced to enable Such
workman or workmen to undertake and proceed to do
the Said repaires It is Ordered by this Court that the Said
Treasurer do out of the moneys by him received upon
