By Adjornment on Thursday the 29th. day of August 1734

Order concerning the
Gravelling & repairing of
Brentford Bridge , So as
the charge thereof doe
not exceed twelve pounds Etc}

Information being given unto this Court by John Tarver< no role > Esqr.
one of his Maties Justices of the peace of this County residing at
New Brentford in the Said County That Some Small repairs are
wanting & requisite to be done unto and in particular gravel
necessary to be laid & Spread upon a publick Bridge called
Brentford Bridge (bein a County Bridge belonging to this County
for the Security & preservation of the Same, It is Ordered by this
Court that it be And It is hereby recommended and referred unto
Henry Barker< no role > James Clitherow< no role > John Tarver< no role > & Richard Bulstrode< no role >
Esqrs . Justices of the peace of this County residing in or neare New
Brentford aforesaid or any two of them to take a view that
gravelling or other repaires are wanting & necessary to be
done thereto Then to contract with & employ Such proper
person or persons to do the Same as they Shall think fit, So as the
whole charge thereof do not exceed the Sum of twelve pounds, And
that after the Said Bridge Shall be well & Substantially gravelled and
repaired in Such manner as the Said Justices or any two of them
Shall upon their view approve off Then the Sum or Sums of
money payable for the doeing thereof (not exceeding in the
whole the Said Sum of twelve pounds) to be Signifyed under,
the hands of the Said Justices of the peace or any two of them
and to what person or persons the Same are payable Shall be
paid by the Treasurers or the Treasurer of the Bridge money to
Such person or persons respectively in full of his or their
demand for the Same whose receipt or receipts together with
this Order Shall be a Sufficient discharge or discharges to the
Said Treasurers or Treasurer for Such payments or payments.

Order for inspecting the
Jacksmiths bill for a new
Jack fixed up at Hicks hall ,
and to consider how far
the Said bill is reasonable
Etc}

Upon inspecting the Jacksmiths bill for a new Jack and fixing
the Same up at Hicks hall amounting to nine pounds & nine
Shillings, out of which a deduction is by him made of three
Shillings for the Old Jack, which is therein mentioned to be
twenty pounds weight, and on which bill the Sum of nine
pounds & Six Shillings is charged as remaining due to him,
It is Ordered by this Court that It be And It is hereby recomended
and referred unto the Committee of Justices of the peace of this
County (to whom the inspection of the repaires wanting &
necessary to be done to Hicks hall is referred) to inspect &
examine the Said bill, and See if the Said new Jack be a good
& Substantial Jack, and to consider how far the Said bill is reasonable,
And to report their opinions touching the matter unto this Court
on Thursday the twelfth day of September next.
