To His Matys Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middx in their General Sessions Assembled.

Report of the Comittee
who have taken a view
of Hicks's Hall Etc}

Wee whose hands are hereunto Subscribed Eight of the
Committee appointed amongst others by an Order of Sessions
in June 1733 to See if Hicks's Hall is out of Repair and if any
and what Repairs are wanting to be done, and by another
Order of Sessions in August last to appoint a proper Surveyor to
See and consider how the Said Hall may be made more
Commodious and warm for the winter half year and what
the Expence thereof may Amount unto.

Do hereby Report that We have not as yet proceeded on
the Order of June Sessions 1733. but deferr'd the Consideration
thereof to a Subsequent meeting in regard Mr. Bromley the
Housekeeper on whose Petition the Said Order was made
and grounded, did not attend us to make out the
allegations of the Same.

That in pursuance of the Order made in Augt. last, we
appointed Nicholas Hawksmoore< no role > Esqr . to lake a Survey of
the Court of Hicks Hall and to consider how the Same might
be made more Commodious and warm, who after
having Survey'd the Court, the Area and Offices attended
us with a design for altering the Same So asitto answer
the purposes aforesaid, which design together with an Estimate
of the charge of doing the Same We have hereunto annexed,
and which this Comittee do approve of and are of Opinion
that the Same is proper and fit to be done.

We do not think our Selves proper Judges of the Jacksmiths
Bill but think the Sum of £9.9s. Should be paid for it if Mr.
Barker agreed for it at that price as is alledged on the
Jacksmiths delivering the Old one, So Small a Trifle as
3s. only being allowed for the Same.

This Comittee are of Opinion
that the proposed Alteration of
the Court may be paid for out of
the Colt Money of the Justices and
the County no ways concerned in
the Application thereof.
