George Harman< no role >
Esquire
one of his Majesties
Justices of the Peace
for this County was by an Order
made by the Court of Generall Quarter Sessions of the
Peace holden for this County in the Week next after
Easter
One thousand seven hundred and Twenty Eight
appointed Treasurer for Maimed Soldiers and
Mariners
for the Hundreds of Elthorne
Spelthorne
and Istleworth
in the said County for the same Yeare,
And a Rate was made by the said Court upon the
severall Parishes and Places within the said
Hundreds for raiseing of Moneys for Reliefe of
such Maimed Soldiers and Mariners for the Yeare
aforesaid, Now upon Information given unto this
Court that the Moneys Assessed by the said Rate
or a considerable part thereof is yet in Arrear
and unpaid to the said Mr. Harman And that by
reason of Some Urgent Affaires of very great
Importance he cannot proceed in the said Office
of Treasurer without great inconvenience to
himselfe, It is at his request Ordered by this Court
that the said Mr. Harman be and he is hereby
Discharged from his said Office of Treasurer,
And this Court Doth Nominate and Appoint James
Harrison
Esquire
one of his Majesties Justices of
the Peace for this County to be Treasurer
for Maimed
Soldiers
and Mariners
for the said Hundreds of
Elthorne
Spelthorne
and Istleworth
in the Room
and Place of the said Mr. Harman who is hereby
desired and directed to deliver the said Rate
and pay over what Sume and Sumes of Money
(if any) are remaining in his hands on Account of
Maimed Soldiers and Mariners unto the said Mr.
Harrison whose Receipt shall be a Sufficient
Discharge to the said Mr. Harman for such payment
And this Court doth hereby Order and require all
