Who being on Oath severally say as follows and
first this Informant George Jehu for himself saith
on Thursday Evening last about ten O'Clock as he was
Walking in Smithfield
he perceived some
thingperson
Pulling at his Coat as if at his pocket on which he
turned suddenly about and saw

Prisoner
now under Examination close by him this
Informant, and instantly he the said
John Edwards< no role >
dropt out of his Hand the pocket Book now produced
which is this Informants property and which he this
Informant had in his Pocket until the same was
stolen by the said

says the said pocket
Book
andwith the Steel Clasp to it cost him this
Informant three Shillings and six pence, but having
worn it some time he now values it only at
six pence, says the paper contained therein are of no
value nor of any use to any person but himself
And the other Informant Richard Goulding for
himself saith that being in Smithfield
last Thursday
Evening he heard some person cry out Watch three
times on which he ran up and discovered it to be
the other Informant George Jehu, who lodges with him
this Informants had who hold the said

by the
Collar, and asking said Jehu what was the Matter he
made answer that the prisoner had picked his pocket of
his pocket Book & nodded or pointed to where it lay on
the Ground,
which this Informant took ofsays he saw
the Book on the Ground and also saw Jehu take it up
