to Mr. Davidson Pawnbroker taken before me
this 13th. day of April 1780
Who being upon Oath saith that this afternoon about
five o Clock a person now present who calls herself Jane Durman< no role >
and
another Woman, came into this Informants said Master Shop under
pretence of buying a Childs Robe, that he said a Childs Robe before
the said Jane Durman< no role >
and the other Woman on the Counter, and turned
round; that he heard something crack like the tearing of Linen and
found that a Muslin Gown had been taken off the Nail in the
Shop that he immediately seized held of her and found on her
concealed under her Arm a Muslin Gown now produced which
he is very sure is the property of Hugh Davidson< no role >
this Informant
said Master and was Stolen as aforesaid by the said Jane
Durman
