the Defendant above named Maketh Oath
that Andrew Crooks< no role >
of Lisburn
in the County of Antrim in the
Kingdom of Ireland
Weaver
and Robert Grey< no role >
of the same Place
Weaver
are Material Witnesses for this Deponent on his Tryal
upon the said Indictments preferred and found against him at this
Session And this Deponent Saith he is Advised and verily beleives
he cannot safely proceed to make his Defence upon his Tryal of
the said Indictments in thont the Benefit of the Testimony of the
said Andrew Crookes< no role >
and Robert Grey< no role >
And this Depenent Saith
that he had no Notice whatsoever of any Indictment being found
against him untill the Eleventh, Day of December Instant And,
therefore it was Impossible for this Deponent to Prepare his
Defence before he was Informed what his to be Tryed for or to
Procure the said Andrew Crooks< no role >
and Robert Grey< no role >
or either of
them to Attend at this Session on his behalf as well by reason
of his having no Notice that he should have Occasion for any
Witnesses at the Session And for that the said Andrew Crooks< no role >
and
Robert Grey< no role >
Live and Reside at L [..] burn in Ireland aforesaid
And this Deponent for the Saith he will noe his Witness Endeavour
to procure the said Andrew Crooks< no role >
and Robert Grey< no role >
to Attend on his
behalf at the next Ensuing Session which this Deponent hopes
and Doubts not but he shall be able to Effect
