The Voluntary & examination and Confession
of Jacob Levy< no role > of the said City Glassgrinder

Who Voluntarily confessed and says That about Four
Months since he went from the said City of Bristol or Fleet
for London & arrived there in about Eight days & lodged at the
house of Moses Blackboy< no role > otherwise Levy< no role > (who buys & sell
second hand & late & otherwise deals in the pedling way) in chequer
Court White Chappel London, that about twelve days afterwards he
went to the house of his humle Jacob Abraham< no role > (now present) who
Buys & sells second hand Cloths & lives in Cock & Hoop yard in
Houndsdith neer Aldgate London & there bought of the said
Jacob Abraham< no role > in the presence of his wife & Children vizt.
Hannah Abraham< no role > , Rose Abraham< no role > JUdith Abraham< no role > and
Abraham Abraham< no role > , threeTelescopes in Malegeny Tubes
about three foot long and three other Telescopes about six foot
long, two of which one now produced, & the other Four he sold to Mr.
John Wright< no role > in Bristol for Five pounds Five shillings and this
[..] Examinant further saith that the
agreed with the said Jacob Abraham< no role > for the said Six Telescopes for the
sum of Five pounds ten Shillings and hath lately remitted his said
[..] le Five pounds & at thereof And this Examinant further saith
that this day he offered for sole the two Telescopes now produced to
James Hale< no role > of the said City of Bristol attorney at Law (who
appeared to this Examinant as a seasoning man) for Five
Guineas which said hale charged this Examinant in Custody of
James Parrett< no role > one of the [..] Mayor's Officers & one of the
Constables of and belonging to the said City on suspition of
Steching the said Telescopes
