taken this 23th Day of Sept 1693
This Exaiant saith that he was never Guiltie of Clipping or
Counterfeiteing the Currant Coyne of this Realine nor
of any other treason what soever, and saith that on
thursday morneing last about three of the Clock some
Psons came to this Deponts. house and Knock at the
dore and demands Entrance, wch being opened to them
they came in, and went up Stairer and searched a Chest
of Drawery and break open Senall trunks & pr tended
to search haveing a warrt: agt: this Exaiant for high
Treason, and after they had searched as much as they
pleased they seized upon this Exaiant and his wife and
Maid servant, and alsoe seized on a silver Tankard
and as much other plate as is worth about five and
twentie pounds, and lockt up the Dores and carried
this Exaiant and his wife and Servt: to one Mr Kitsons
house but they kept the plate themselves, although
this Exaiant desired it might remains. in ye Constable
hands, And this Exaiant further saith the Psons yt
seizedthishim and tooke away his plate as aforesaid
