ye. 31th. day of May Ao. Din 1692 touching ye Death of John

Saith that on Friday the 27th. of May instant about one of the
Clocke in the morning this Informt. was standing at a Bonfire neare ye
Inner Temple Gate and that he Saw foure Gent walke from abt. the
Young Divell Taverne towards ye Inner Temple Gate and two of them
made a Stop or Stand when they had gone but pt. of ye way and in
a Short Space afterwards this Informt. looked towards ye.Templ
Gate againe and heard a rushing as he thought and this Informt. did
heare a Gent in a lightish coloured habit Say Dacune yee and
a push at nine ye decd. wth. a Sword and immediately ye decd. Mr. Hoyle fell downe
& thereupon ye sd. Gent putt up his Sword againe Saying Swords ye Gent
hath a Cutt on his Eye or to that effect And thisd Informt. goeing to his
Assistance Sward him groane & imediately dyed
