The Informacon of Thomas Huit One of the
Lord Mayers Officers taken upon Oath before
Sr. William Turner< no role > knt . Alderman and one
of their Maties Justices of the Peace of the City
of London this 13th. day of February Anno
Dui 1691 Who sayeth That he being in
Newgate Street about 4 of the Clock this
afternoon heard some People Cry the Child
is Killd and turneing to see the matter, saw
A boy about five yeares old tye on the ground
and then the Informt. run to the Carr man
(John Jellis) and took hold of him and the
forehorse; (the Cart being drawn by two horses)
And sent for A Constable and held him till
A Constable came and took the Carrman
into his Custody This Informt. sayeth that
he did not see the Child run over, neither did
he heare the Carrman Cry out to the Child
or make any nouse to obstruct the Accident
but this Informt. sayeth that Speaking to
the Carr man about it the Carrman Confest
he said the boy Crossing the way but he could
not stop his Cart with all [..] Strength the
fore horse drew so hard, he haveing the hinder
horse by the head And farther sayeth not

maketh oath that he walking behind Mr. Huit
abovenamed saw A Man take up Richard Hare< no role > the
boy abovemenconed after the Cart had run over his head
and while Mr. Huit held the Carrman this Informts.
