The Informacon of [..] Kingsmill of Sandelford in ye
County of Berks Gent Sworne & exaire ye 27th day of [..]
May Ao Din 1692 touching ye Death of John Hoyle< no role > Esqr . then
lyeing dead

Sayth that on ye Twenty Sixth day of this Instant May betweene
the houses of Eight of ye Clocke in ye Evening & one of ye Clocke this Prsent
morning This Informt. hearing that Mr. George Pitt< no role > & Mr. Wm Clarke< no role > were drinking
at ye Young Dwell Taverne neare Temple Barr went thither to them & ye decd.
some time after came in [..] alsoe Mr. Tilney andafterSome short time
after ye decd. comeing in, he ye decd. fell into a discourse touching ye Prsent King
& ye Governmt. speaking very Smrrilously & Scandalongly of them Insomuch that
Mr. Pitt was very uneasy thereat & Some words ariseing betweene ye. Sd. Mr. Pitt
& ye decd. whereupon ye decd. called ye Sd. Mr. Pitt Pnthorne Rascall Coward
or such like Simrilons words, Soe yt. ye decd. & ye Sd. Mr. Pitt had like to have
fought in ye Roome but were Evented by Mr. Clarke & other & Mr. Pitt to
Prsent any Mischiefe gave this Sworn to Mr Clarke and told ye. decd. that hee
would take nee Notice of what here Sd. Saying that what [..] ye.decd. Spoke
Seemed of Madnesse or distraccon And this Informt. Sayth that ye decd. went
downe staires & staid abt. halfe a quarter of an hour & ye Compa. thought he
had beene gone but he returned againe & reneved ye discourseagaineabusing
Sd. Mr. Pitt wth. very reproach full words insomuch that there was a discourse of
meeting ye next morning believe Southampter house fight it out as this
Informt. apprehended, But this Informant & Mr. Clarke [..] persuading, them to
ye contrary & continued to part them & Mr. Clarke resolved to bye wth ye decd.
& this Infomt. wth. Mr. Pitt, That after they cam out of ye house whilst Mr.
Clarke & this Informt. were confulting abt. Lodging wth ye decd. & Mr. Pitt as
aforesd. hee suddenly heard a clasting of Swords or a sword & Astisle & goory
imediately to see was the matter found ye decd. downe upon ye. Ground near ye. Temple Gate
wounded wth his Sword in his Scabbard as the beleives but noe pson neare Save ye
Watchman or some pson that came out of ye Temple
