upon seeing Mc Caul and Wilkinson come up to him
he seemed Struck but did not make use of any
Threats that Mc Caul upon going up to him took him
by the Coller on one side and the deced on the
other and Deponent also Assisted Deponent also
says That he did not hear Mc Caul or Wilkinson
say any thing to Powell such as he was an
Officer or had a Warrant and he says that Mc
Caul Wilkinson< no role > & himself endeavoured to take
Powell into the Kings Arms but he resisted and
being Powerfull Man they found much difficulty
That the deceased who had a Stick in his hand
Struck [..] Powell several Strokes on the Back and
when they had got into the Nanow Passage he
Suddenly drew a Knife and made an Attempt
to Stab the Deponent and Cut through the
Breeches and Lineing on [..] his right HughTho
and Deponent fell back he then Stabled the
deceased [..] who Immediately said O Lord
I am Stabled he then went Home as Deponent
has been informed and soon afterwards Died
