The Information of William Elbey< no role > of Bell Wharf Shadwell
Comb maker taken this 18th: day of Feby. 1787

Who being on Oath says he was this Morning about the hour of Eight called
on by Benjamin Mark< no role > who told him he had been robbed of a Dollars and Some
Silver and that he could swear to the Dollar and one of the Shillings which was crooked he
had marked and should know them again if he saw them And told this Informant
where it was done Says he went to the Landlord who keeps the Ship Alehouse and Old Ground
Lane who he asked if he knowed any thing of the Robbery that was done in his Leave
who told this Informant that One James had set along side the man Says he asked him
where he lived who told him he did not know but if he want over the way he might
enquireThat he was informed what sort of a man it was who described James
Says he them told the Prosecutor if it was the same which had been described he would
go and show him where he livedThat he went to the house where James
was abed and Searched his Cloathsand found in his Breeches pocket the
Ten Shillings and Two six pence producedsays [..] Mark was near and came into the
Room where James was That he asked Monk if he should know the Shilling
he informed him of again who said Yes and on producing the same He the
said Benjamin Monk declared the said Shilling to be his property and would
